I’m shocked!<br /><br />I was exposed to Prof. Machen as a beginning Greek student, and was later fortunate enough to find and buy a copy of his book on the Virgin Birth. He was what my sort like to label a “vile” Presbyterian…. But Mencken (who could be pretty vile himself!) was certainly right about Machen…: ‘[h]is Biblical studies had been wide and deep, and he was familiar with the almost interminable literature of the subject.
